Speaker Aryal Orders Removal of Three Words from Badal’s Parliamentary Remarks

Wednesday, May 13 2026

Kathmandu- Speaker D.P. Aryal has directed the parliamentary secretariat to remove three words from the official record of remarks made by CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ during Tuesday’s House of Representatives meeting.

During his speech on Tuesday, Badal made strong remarks on issues including the Nepal Army and the Gen-Z movement. He stated that the Nepal Army remained passive while state structures were being set on fire during the events of Bhadra 23 and 24.

He also allegedly accused some RSP lawmakers of being involved in activities where national flags were used while attempting to burn the country. In addition, he referred to current RSP lawmakers in Parliament as an “anarchic group.”

Following these remarks, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmakers Manish Khanal and Ramesh Prasain strongly objected and raised a point of order.

Based on the objections, Speaker Aryal on Wednesday instructed the parliamentary secretariat to delete three controversial words used by Badal from the parliamentary record.
