Kathmandu- Nepal Communist Party (UML) Secretary Mahesh Basnet has stated that the National Youth Association Nepal is a common platform for democratic, nationalist, and progressive youth.
Extending greetings on the occasion of the National Youth Association Nepal’s establishment day and Youth Day, Basnet said the organization has played an important role in elevating Nepal’s youth movement to a new level. He noted that since its establishment on Jestha 1, 2047 BS, the organization has contributed significantly to youth policy formulation, the establishment of the Ministry of Youth, the creation of the Youth Self-Employment Fund, as well as initiatives in education, health, and employment.
Basnet said that the current youth movement must become more active, vigilant, and resilient against authoritarianism, arbitrariness, revenge politics, and injustice. He also emphasized that defeating neoliberal and populist forces and strengthening the “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali” campaign is the key responsibility of today’s youth.
He further stated through social media that the youth movement should be strengthened by protecting democratic values, citizens’ rights, national sovereignty, and social justice.
