Sudurpashchimanchal Kala Pratisthan Holds Fifth General Assembly; Ambika Prasad Acharya Elected President

Dhangadhi: The fifth General Assembly and Convention of Sudurpashchimanchal Kala Pratisthan, Dhangadhi, was held in Dhangadhi on Saturday with the participation of artists, creators and representatives of various organizations working in the fields of art, literature and culture.

The event was chaired by Pratisthan President Aawesh Kumar Chand, while veteran artist and classical music maestro Ustad Shivdutta Pant attended as the chief guest. Nationalist actor and film producer Nawal Khadka, former president of the Film Producers Association and former president of the Film Artists Association, was also present. Krishna Siradi of the Nepal Academy, former president Ambika Prasad Acharya and founding president of the Pratisthan Raj Kumar Joshi were among the other attendees.

Vice President Chandra Chaudhary ‘Chand’ delivered the welcome address, while General Secretary Gunakar Paneru moderated the program.

The convention also elected a new executive committee, with Ambika Prasad Acharya elected as the new president.

Similarly, Gunakar Paneru was elected vice president, Roshan K.C. secretary, Govinda Mukhiya joint secretary, and Keshav Balayar treasurer.

The newly elected executive committee members include Kanti Giri, Parbati Bam, Dipika Shahi, Saugat Sunar, Angel Chaudhary and Saraswati Seththi.

With the election of the new leadership, the Pratisthan is expected to play a more effective role in promoting the arts, literature and culture of Sudurpashchim Province and safeguarding the interests and rights of artists in the days ahead.
