Kathmandu: President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Kamlesh Agrawal, has emphasized that unity and collaboration among major private sector institutions are essential for achieving economic progress in the country.
Addressing a candidate घोषणा (announcement) event of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Agrawal stated that division within the private sector often creates confusion for the government, ultimately impacting the overall economy.
He recalled that during his two-year tenure, there was strong and effective cooperation with FNCCI, which contributed positively to economic initiatives. Agrawal also noted that the recommendations submitted by the High-Level Economic Reform Suggestion Commission represent a document built on consensus within the private sector.
Expressing expectations from upcoming leadership, he stressed the need to continue the same level of unity and collaboration. He said, “From the investment summit to the work of the High-Level Economic Reform Suggestion Commission, we maintained continuous coordination. When even a single private sector organization holds a differing view, the government tends to use it as an excuse to delay decision-making.”
Agrawal extended his best wishes to all entrepreneurs and businesspersons announcing their candidacies, urging them to move forward with consensus and work collectively for the welfare and interests of the private sector.
