TOKYO - Subash Lamichhane has emerged as a strong contender for the presidency of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Japan for the 2025–2027 term. With a focus on institutional reform, transparency, and inclusivity, Lamichhane's youth-oriented and socially driven leadership vision positions him as a stronger candidate compared to his rival, Siddhartha Shrestha.

Born in Kushma, Parbat, Lamichhane moved to Japan in 2007. After completing his undergraduate studies in management, he received hotel management training in Japan and has been successfully operating a restaurant business since 2011. He was unanimously elected as the President of the Parbat Japan Society and previously served as the spokesperson of NRNA

Japan (2021–2023). Currently, he holds the position of Vice President for the 2023–2025 term.

As Vice President, Lamichhane played a pivotal role in organizing 13 mobile service units across Japan, delivering health and social support to more than 7,000 Nepalis. He also facilitated the transfer of an education fund totaling 2.3 million Japanese Yen to support students in Nepal affected by the earthquake.

Lamichhane has led the successful organization and stall management of two major Nepal Festivals in Japan. With the general convention scheduled for July 20, he has launched his campaign under the slogan, “Dedicated, Accountable, and Purpose-Driven Leadership.”

He has also mobilized volunteers to assist Nepali students learning Japanese and established coordination with local Japanese schools to operate student support programs.

“We don’t need political leadership; we need social leadership. My commitment is to revive NRNA Japan through youth empowerment, inclusive thinking, and a transparent working culture,” Lamichhane stated. His proven track record of social responsibility, leadership capability, and clear vision makes him a formidable candidate for the NRNA Japan presidency.
