Subash Lamichhane Elected President of NRNA Japan

Kathmandu - Subash Lamichhane has been elected as the President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) National Coordination Council, Japan. In the election held on Sunday, Lamichhane secured 7,152 votes, defeating his opponent Siddhartha Shrestha, who garnered 5,193 votes.

Similarly, in the election for the Senior Vice President position, outgoing General Secretary Tikaram Kharel was elected with 6,418 votes. His contender, outgoing Vice President Krishna Gaire Sharma, received 5,927 votes.

For the Vice President positions, the elected candidates were:

  • Muktiram Khanal (Binod) with 8,702 votes,

  • Dilip Kandel with 6,949 votes, and

  • Dipak Sunar with 6,101 votes.

Other candidates for the Vice President post were:

  • Narayan Subedi, who received 5,928 votes,

  • Dipesh Khatri (KC) with 5,783 votes, and

  • Rudra Mall (Manoj) with 3,572 votes.

In the Regional Vice President race, Bishnu Prasad Subedi (Bishwo) won by defeating his rival Hariprasad Kandel. Subedi secured 6,983 votes while Kandel received 5,362 votes.

Shyam Kumar Shrestha (Shyam Sital) was elected as the General Secretary, obtaining 6,384 votes. His opponent, outgoing spokesperson Bishwas Gautam (Khagaraj), received 5,863 votes and became the runner-up.

In the Secretary category, the winners were:

  • Netra Pandey with 8,008 votes and

  • Dilli Prasad Sapkota (Bishnu) with 5,863 votes.

Sagar Karki won the Regional Secretary position with the highest vote margin. He defeated his rival Gyanendra Bhatt (Gyanu) by 4,685 votes. Karki received 8,515 votes while Bhatt got 3,830.

Muktiraj Regmi was elected Treasurer after defeating his two competitors, Krishna Prasad Pokharel (Babu) and Rakesh Lama. According to the Election Committee, Regmi secured 5,786 votes, Pokharel got 3,531, and Lama received 3,028.

In the election for Regional Joint Treasurer, Sandeep G.C. was elected with 4,424 votes. His opponents Ramesh Giri and Nasiruddin Miya received 4,029 and 3,892 votes respectively.

Similarly, the following individuals were elected as members:

  • Milan Aryal, Kamlesh GC, Nabindip Gurung, Ramesh Raj Jaisi, Nirajan Mall, Krishna Prasad Bhusal, Bhim Bahadur Budhathoki, Suresh Sapkota, and Prakash Sapkota.

In addition, the following candidates were elected unopposed:

  • Anju Bhandari as Women Vice President,

  • Lalita Tamang as Women Secretary,

  • Kamana Bhandari as Joint Treasurer,

  • Manju Giri as Women Coordinator,

  • Ishwari Aryal and Santoshi Adhikari as Women Members.
