The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a slight decline on Wednesday.
The benchmark index fell by 1.64 points to settle at 2,711.22 points.
According to NEPSE, a total of 7.13 million shares of 336 companies were traded 47,841 times, generating a total turnover of Rs 3.19 billion 77 lakh 66 thousand 779.
In terms of sub-indices, some groups saw gains while most recorded declines. Banking rose by 0.16 percent, finance by 0.19 percent, hotel and tourism by 0.22 percent, investment by 0.40 percent, microfinance by 0.48 percent, mutual funds by 0.80 percent, non-life insurance by 0.19 percent, and the “others” group by 0.03 percent.
Meanwhile, development banks declined by 0.51 percent, hydropower by 0.43 percent, life insurance by 0.32 percent, and the manufacturing and processing group by 0.56 percent.
Among individual stocks, Forward Microfinance Laghubitta Financial Institution Limited recorded the highest gain of 13.74 percent. On the other hand, Bhagwati Hydropower Development Company Limited posted the highest loss, falling by 8.90 percent.
