Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a strong warning to the United States, threatening military retaliation if Iranian oil tankers or commercial vessels are attacked again in the Persian Gulf or the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post shared on Instagram, the IRGC Navy Command warned that any future attacks on Iranian vessels would be met with heavy strikes on US military bases and warships in the region.
In a separate statement, the IRGC Aerospace Force claimed that its missiles and drones are already locked onto American bases and enemy ships and are awaiting orders to launch attacks.
Meanwhile, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, the United States has prepared a 14-point draft proposal and is awaiting Iran’s response. US President Donald Trump had earlier said he expected a response by Saturday morning.
However, Iran has yet to provide an official reply. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that the US proposal is currently under review and that a response will be given at an appropriate time. He also said Iran does not accept deadlines imposed by the United States.
