At least 17 people, including a 12-year-old girl, have been killed in Israeli drone and airstrikes near the capital Beirut and southern Lebanon, according to local media and the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

On Saturday, three drone strikes targeting vehicles in southern Beirut killed four people. Additional airstrikes across various areas in southern Lebanon killed 13 more people, authorities said.

Despite a ceasefire agreement declared between Israel and Hezbollah on April 17, both sides have reportedly continued near-daily exchanges of fire, indicating ongoing tensions.

On Wednesday night, the Israeli Air Force carried out an attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut, claiming to have killed a senior Hezbollah military commander. It is considered the first such strike near the capital since the ceasefire.

Two of Saturday’s strikes hit areas along the highway connecting Beirut with the southern port city of Sidon, injuring several people. Another strike occurred on a road leading to the Chouf region, killing three people.

In the southern village of Saksakieh, an airstrike killed at least seven people and injured 15 others, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health. Additional strikes in Burj Rahal and Mayfadoun also resulted in further casualties.
