Kathmandu- A total of 1,687 drivers across the country were penalized in the past 24 hours for violating traffic rules, according to traffic police. The enforcement drive generated Rs 2,031,506 in revenue for the state.
The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office stated that 85 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, 163 for violating ride-sharing regulations, 142 for traffic signal violations, and 117 for speeding.
Similarly, 66 drivers were penalized for not following lane discipline, 86 for honking in prohibited areas, 98 for illegal parking on sidewalks, and 121 for driving on one-way roads.
An additional 804 drivers were fined for other traffic rule violations, the traffic police said.
