Kathmandu- Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Gyanendra Shahi has said that Parliament is a platform meant for work, not for merely “seeing the face of the Prime Minister.”
His remarks came amid continued absence of Prime Minister Balen Shah from parliamentary sessions. Shahi said, “Parliament is not for watching the Prime Minister’s face; it is for doing work.”
He further stated that the Prime Minister’s primary responsibility is policy formulation, and Parliament is the highest forum where such policies should be made. According to him, policy-making should not happen behind closed doors but openly within Parliament.
“The Prime Minister is not called to Parliament to give speeches but to work. His main responsibility is policy-making, and Parliament is the supreme body where policies are formed,” Shahi wrote on social media.
