Kathmandu- Ravindra Mishra has criticized the remarks made by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) regarding its commitment to the federal democratic republic system expressed in Parliament.
Following the discussion on the policy and programme in Parliament on Thursday, he stated that it is not appropriate to center the country’s future solely on the current political leadership. He added in a social media post, “As if this country belongs only to the current generation of RSP leaders. As if there will never be bad leadership in the party in the future.”
Mishra further highlighted Nepal’s sensitive geopolitical position, warning that regional and global power rivalries could have an impact on the country. He also stressed that potential challenges related to ethnic, religious, and regional relations should not be overlooked.
He emphasized the need for a symbolic foundation of patriotism and national unity, arguing that citizens should not place complete trust solely in current political leadership or state institutions. According to him, with a growing trend of youth migration abroad, attention must be given to creating conditions that encourage future generations to remain in Nepal.
Mishra also noted that the global situation is becoming increasingly unstable, stating that a country like Nepal must seriously consider long-term peace, stability, and its national existence.
