Kathmandu – Artist Sagar Lamsal ‘Bale’, currently in custody at the District Police Range Kathmandu, is being investigated on charges of public misconduct.
The police issued a statement on Monday, a day after his detention was extended by five days, providing details about the case. According to the statement, Lamsal is under investigation for an offense related to indecent behavior, following a remand order granted by the District Administration Office Kathmandu.
“The investigation against Sagar Lamsal, also known as ‘Bale’, is ongoing under charges of public misconduct after a five-day extension was approved,” the statement said.
Police have also expressed concern over various statements, opinions, and information being circulated on social media through different individuals and media outlets.
The authorities have urged the public not to spread misleading or unverified information regarding the ongoing investigation.
Earlier, reports had surfaced after a woman based in the United States accused Lamsal of rape through social media, which led to his arrest.
