The United States is preparing to issue a special commemorative passport to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The passport will reportedly feature the image and signature of President Donald Trump.

According to information released by the U.S. Department of State, the special edition passports will be available in limited quantities. The initiative is being seen as a key part of the “America250” celebration promoted by the Trump administration.

The new passport design includes elaborate artwork. Inside pages will feature Trump’s portrait and his signature in gold, placed in front of the historic 1776 Declaration of Independence scene.

The cover design will also be modified, with the word “America” placed at the top and “Passport” at the bottom in gold lettering. The back cover will feature a U.S. flag design encircling the number 250 with 13 stars.

State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said the passports will include enhanced security features while incorporating the special commemorative artwork. The passport is expected to be issued around July 4 at the Washington, D.C. passport office, with an initial release of around 25,000 to 30,000 copies.

This would mark the first time a sitting U.S. president’s image appears on an American passport, as previous designs have only included historical presidents such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.

White House spokesperson Olivia Wells said the new design is expected to strengthen national pride and patriotism among American citizens.

Officials also stated that no additional fee will be charged for the commemorative passport. The government is also reportedly planning to include Trump’s image and signature on currency, coins, and select public buildings as part of the broader 250th anniversary celebrations.
