Kathmandu - YouTube is testing a new way to improve live streams with rankings that identify the most active viewers.
For live streamers, YouTube’s new rankings are said to be a great way to earn points by being active in conversations. It will highlight the 50 most engaged viewers on a channel and give regular viewers the attention they deserve, the Telegraph reported. Viewers will be able to earn points by chatting, sending Super Chats and more. The top three people will also get a special logo next to their name that will make them stand out from the crowd and increase their chances of catching the attention of broadcasters.
You can see the rankings by tapping on the little crown icon at the top of the live chat. How YouTube calculates the “behind the scenes” points is still a mystery. It is further stated that just because you are active on a live stream does not mean you automatically want to be included in the public rankings. YouTube has not said whether this feature is on by default. But you can disable it at any time by going to Settings on both mobile and desktop.
