Kathmandu- Renowned Nepali comedian and a prominent figure in acting and directing, Gopal Dhakal “Chhande”, was honored at a grand ceremony organized by Dakshya International Pvt. Ltd. last Saturday at Nepal Police Club, Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu.

The award was presented in high recognition of Dhakal’s continuous contribution to society and the nation through the medium of art for over two decades.

The Global Star Awards 2082 event was graced by Honorable Chandra Bhandari, Member of the House of Representatives, as the chief guest. The special guests included Honorable Bishnu Kumari Sapkota, Member of the National Assembly; Honorable Dipendra Shrestha, former Minister and Member of the Provincial Assembly; Mohan Niraula, President of the Nepal Film Artists Association; distinguished music composer Shambhujeet Baskota; Member of Parliament Sunil K.C.; and Event Director Tek Raj Pandey.

Widely known by his stage name Chhande, Dhakal has been successfully raising awareness on various social issues through satire and comedy. Besides being a comedian, he is also recognized as a singer, director, presenter, and acting trainer.

Dhakal has performed in numerous countries including India, Qatar, Dubai, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, several European nations, and the UK. He has acted in dozens of feature films, music videos, thousands of stage shows, Gaijatra shows, and commercials. In recent years, he has also been active in film direction, with his upcoming movies "Magney Raja" and "Chitthi" set to release this coming Bhadra (August/September).

Dhakal’s creative works, artistic excellence, and refined performances have played a significant role in enriching Nepali art, literature, and culture. His unique style, deep social perspective, and inspiring personality have continued to motivate and influence people across society.
